Assistant Dance Teacher – Preschool & Early Elementary Classes

Are you passionate about working with young children and have a love for dance? Clarion Center for the Arts is seeking a kind, patient, and enthusiastic Assistant Dance Teacher to support our preschool and early elementary dance classes.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys nurturing creativity and confidence in kids, even if they’ve never taught dance before.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist lead instructors during dance classes for children ages 2–9
- Help manage classroom behavior and keep students engaged and on task
- Support students during activities, movement games, and choreography
- Offer encouragement, positive energy, and hands-on help to young dancers
- Set up and clean up the dance space before and after class
- Be a positive role model who reflects our studio’s values of compassion, confidence, and creativity
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children (ages 2–9) in any setting—childcare, school, camp, etc.
- A basic background in dance (classes, school teams, recreational experience or even just being a dance mom is plenty! Formal training is not required.)
- A warm, calm, and playful personality—someone who truly enjoys young kids
- Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
- Willingness to learn and take direction from the lead teacher
- Able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule during our dance season (Sept–May)
Schedule
We are looking to fill spots for Mondays 4:45-7:45, Tuesdays 4:45-7:15, Wednesdays 4:00-7:45, Thursdays 5:00-6:00. Feel free to apply even if only some of those days work for you.
