Kennel Technician / Pet Care Attendant

A Pet Villa is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and caring Kennel Technician / Pet Care Attendant to join our team at our dog daycare, boarding, and grooming facility in Santa Clara.
This is a hands-on position for someone who genuinely enjoys working with dogs and takes pride in providing excellent care. Our Kennel Technicians are responsible for the daily care, safety, cleanliness, and comfort of the pets staying with us.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, energetic, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise dogs during daycare and group play
- Monitor dog behavior and maintain safe playgroups
- Feed pets according to individual feeding instructions
- Provide fresh water throughout the day
- Administer medications according to provided instructions when trained and authorized
- Walk dogs and provide individual attention when required
- Provide enrichment activities and playtime
- Clean and sanitize kennels, suites, play areas, bowls, bedding, and common areas
- Pick up and properly dispose of pet waste
- Perform laundry and maintain clean bedding and towels
- Assist with morning and evening kennel routines
- Monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, stool, energy level, or general condition
- Immediately communicate health or behavioral concerns to management
- Follow individual pet-care instructions accurately
- Assist with daycare evaluations and introductions when trained
- Help with check-ins and check-outs when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility
- Follow all A Pet Villa safety and animal-handling procedures
- Work as part of a team to ensure every pet receives proper care

Experience
Previous experience working in a dog daycare, boarding facility, veterinary hospital, animal shelter, grooming facility, or other animal-care environment is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Experience handling groups of dogs is a plus.
Schedule & Availability
A Pet Villa operates 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
Candidates must have flexible availability. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Reliable attendance is extremely important because the pets in our care depend on our team every day.
Physical Requirements
This is an active position. Candidates must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout the facility
- Handle dogs of various sizes
- Occasionally lift approximately 50 pounds
- Work around barking dogs, pet hair, cleaning products, urine, feces, and other normal conditions associated with an animal-care facility
- Work both indoors and outdoors as required
