As a Residential Facility Cook at Horizon, you will…
- Prepare meals for patients and prep items for later service
- Attend to appearance, quality, and proper portioning of all menu items
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, keeping equipment in clean and proper working order
- Including but not limited to: dish washing, sweeping, mopping, cleaning tables etc.
- Adhere to FDA, USDA, State, and County safe food handling procedures
- Maintain proper documentation of temperatures, meal counts, and production sheets
- Project a positive attitude and exemplary customer service when interacting with patients
- Clearly and effectively communicate with coworkers and patients
- Demonstrate the ability to work and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
- Follow a four-week cycle menu and creatively assist in seasonal modifications

- High school diploma or equivalent with two or more years of cooking experience in hospital or clinical setting, long-term care setting, restaurant setting or similar facility (required).
OR
- Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts
Location:
This position is located at 6331 Inducon Dr E, Sanborn NY.
Hours:
This is a full-time position. Work shifts range between the hours of 6 AM - 6 PM.
- Must have weekend and holiday availability (if your shift falls on a holiday, you will be paid time and a half).
- If your shift falls on a holiday you will receive a floating holiday to use at a later date along with time and a half.
Compensation
Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $18.82 - $20.29. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.
Physical demands associated with this position include:
- Stationary posture, alternating between standing and sitting.
- Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
- Occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds
- Frequent use of kitchen tools and appliances
