Maria Montessori School is a well-established private Montessori school serving children from Preschool through 8th Grade in San Diego. We are seeking one full-time and one part-time Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated team. This position is Monday through Friday and supports both our preschool classrooms and childcare programs.
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable individual who is passionate about working with young children and committed to honoring each child as a unique individual. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team member who values creating a nurturing, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing our Montessori curriculum while supporting the individual needs of each child.
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where children can learn and thrive.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
- Assist with classroom organization and cleaning, lunch supervision, playground duty, and the after-school program as needed.

Pay scale for assistant teachers is $20-25/hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available for full-time employees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a school or early childhood setting.
- Minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development units.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to successfully complete TB screening and Live Scan fingerprint clearance.
- A positive, professional attitude when working with children, parents, and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Montessori school experience.
- 12 or more ECE/Child Development units.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
