Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Bookkeeper for a long-term role with a plastics manufacturer located in Tigard, OR. The person in this role is responsible for customer invoicing, payment posting, accounts payable, QuickBooks, collections, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Pay: $27-$30/hr
Bookkeeper Responsibilities:
- Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on time.
- Post customer payments received via check, ACH, wire transfer, and credit card.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies.
- Monitor aging reports and perform collections activities primarily through email communication.
- Maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring timely payment of outstanding balances.
- Upload invoices and supporting documentation to customer portals as required.
- Track invoice and payment information in spreadsheets and internal reporting tools.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment of approved expenses.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation when applicable.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
- Prepare payment batches and assist with check runs and electronic payments.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
- Enter and post journal entries provided by management or external accounting professionals.
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations and closing procedures.
- Assist in gathering documentation and reports for year-end CPA review and tax preparation.
- Prepare various accounting spreadsheets and reports as requested by management.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
- Support special accounting projects and process improvements as needed.
- Perform other bookkeeping and accounting duties typical of a manufacturing environment.
Bookkeeper Qualifications:
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience with customer invoicing and accounts receivable functions.
- Experience posting payments and reconciling customer accounts.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Experience with accounts payable processing.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including maintaining and updating spreadsheets.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with customer invoicing portals and vendor management systems.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Availability to work MON-THURS ten hours shift schedule
