This is a part-time opening (25-35 hours per week) with the potential for full-time. This job primarily involves cpt coding and following up on unpaid medical claims. We are looking to hire a certified coder with the CPC or CPC-A credential. A four-year college degree and/or two years coding experience is also preferred.
We are a locally owned and operated medical billing company with approximately 60 employees. We have been in business since 1980. Our clients are physicians and physician groups, mostly pathologists and anesthesiologists. We bill patients and the patients' insurance for services received from our clients.
Other tasks could include calling insurance companies or going to their website to find out if a claim has been received or why it has not been paid, filing appeals, fixing and resubmitting denied claims, working error reports, entering patient demographic and charge data, etc.
We look for candidates who are intelligent, fast learners, and have a strong work ethic and desire to grow and be challenged. Computer skills are a plus.

After months of training there is the potential opportunity to work one day from home per week, assuming you have your own PC and internet access.
We allow for flexible schedules. Our office is open M-F from 8am to 5pm so your schedule would have to fit within those parameters. After months of training there is the potential opportunity to work outside those standard hours to some degree.
