EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position provides classroom and hands-on instruction to inmates learning the electronics trade while also maintaining and repairing electronic systems throughout the facility. The role supports daily operations by ensuring that equipment functions properly and that inmates receive structured vocational training. As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:

Training Instruction: Teach inmates electronics skills through classroom lessons and supervised hands on work

Equipment Maintenance: Repair and maintain communication, security, and electronic systems used throughout the institution

Tool Oversight: Issue, track, and secure tools and materials used in training and work assignments

Work Supervision: Assign tasks to inmate work crews and inspect completed work for accuracy and quality

System Installation: Install, test, and troubleshoot cabling, network jacks, and electronic components across the facility

Record Management: Maintain training records, inventories, and documentation for maintenance and repair activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).
