CMAP empowers people to age with purpose, dignity, and connection through social services, health and wellness programs, lifelong learning, and intergenerational initiatives.
About the Program
Third Act: A Purposeful Retirement is an AmeriCorps program designed to combat social isolation among older adults through digital literacy, volunteerism, intergenerational engagement, and social programs. The program invites an intergenerational team of AmeriCorps members (ages 18+), including students, mid-career professionals, and retirees, to work side-by-side in strengthening community connections and helping ensure that no one ages alone.
Service Opportunities
We are seeking AmeriCorps members who will serve in the following capacity:
Digital Literacy & Technology Education AmeriCorps members will serve as digital literacy coaches focused on helping older adults build confidence with technology. They will provide one-on-one coaching and lead workshops on using tablets, smartphones, email, video calling, and other digital tools. Members will offer tech support in CMAP’s Technology Learning Center, at affordable housing sites, and in other community settings. They will also support older adults with troubleshooting personal devices and will provide audio/visual and tech setup for in-person and hybrid CMAP programs. Their service empowers older adults to stay connected, informed, and engaged.

This position is Part-Time or Full-Time
Quarter-Time: 450 hours (September 1, 2026 - August 30, 2027) - an average of 18-19 hours/week w/4 weeks PTO – Living Allowance/Stipend of $7,000 for the full year of service split into bi-weekly stipend amounts; Segal Education award earned upon successful completion of the program of $1,850.00
Half-Time: 900 hours (September 1, 2026 - August 30, 2027) - an average of 18-19 hours/week w/4 weeks PTO – Living Allowance/Stipend of $14,000 for the full year of service split into bi-weekly stipend amounts; Segal Education award earned upon successful completion of the program of $3,697.50
Full-Time: 1700 hours (September 1, 2026 - August 30, 2027) - an average of 36 hours/week w/4 weeks PTO – Living Allowance/Stipend of $27,500 for the full year of service split into bi-weekly stipend amounts; Segal Education award earned upon successful completion of the program of $7,395.00
Qualifications
- Passion for community service and interest in aging, equity, and intergenerational work
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Reliable transportation to Princeton, NJ and schools/sites within 15 miles of Princeton, NJ
- Open to applicants of all ages (18+)—whether you’re starting your career, completing an internship, returning to the workforce, building new skills mid-career, or seeking purposeful service in retirement
