Strategic Partner
North Star Investment Group
Part-Time | Hybrid | Equity and Performance-Based Compensation
About North Star Investment Group
North Star Investment Group is a relationship-driven investment access platform focused on infrastructure, commodities, and strategic real assets across emerging and frontier markets.
NSIG works at the intersection of capital, opportunity, and regional access. Through trusted relationships with project owners, government stakeholders, institutional groups, and strategic investors, we identify off-market opportunities and help create credible pathways from initial introduction through diligence and transaction execution.
Our primary areas of focus include mining and critical minerals, energy and resource-linked infrastructure, data centers and digital infrastructure, strategic real estate, and large-scale development projects, with a particular emphasis on Central Asia.
The Opportunity
NSIG is seeking an experienced and highly entrepreneurial professional to join the firm as a Strategic Partner.
This is a part-time, hybrid leadership position designed for someone who wants to help build and scale an investment platform rather than simply occupy a traditional salaried role. The selected individual will work directly with NSIG’s existing partners and will have the opportunity to participate in the firm’s long-term growth through equity ownership and performance-based compensation.
The ideal candidate will bring relevant transaction experience, strong professional relationships, sound judgment, and the ability to independently advance business development, capital formation, strategic partnerships, and active opportunities.
This role offers meaningful influence over the direction of the firm and the potential to earn directly from the value created.
Key Responsibilities
- Help develop and execute NSIG’s broader growth and business-development strategy.
- Build relationships with private investors, family offices, institutional capital providers, strategic operators, project sponsors, and government stakeholders.
- Identify and introduce qualified capital partners and transaction opportunities.
- Evaluate prospective projects, counterparties, and partnerships before they enter the firm’s active pipeline.
- Participate in investor meetings, project presentations, negotiations, and strategic discussions.
- Support the structuring and advancement of transactions involving infrastructure, commodities, mining, energy, data centers, and other real assets.
- Help coordinate communication among investors, project owners, advisors, regional partners, and public-sector stakeholders.
- Strengthen the firm’s internal processes, market positioning, institutional credibility, and transaction-execution capabilities.
- Represent NSIG professionally at meetings, conferences, delegations, and industry events when appropriate.
- Contribute to major decisions concerning the firm’s strategy, partnerships, geographic expansion, and long-term development.
Ideal Background
We are looking for a senior, commercially minded professional with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Investment banking, private equity, private credit, venture capital, project finance, or capital markets
- Mining, commodities, energy, infrastructure, real estate development, or data centers
- Institutional fundraising, investor relations, or family-office coverage
- Cross-border transactions and emerging-market investment
- Government relations, sovereign engagement, or public-private partnerships
- Deal origination, transaction structuring, strategic advisory, or business development
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a record of developing relationships, originating opportunities, raising capital, executing transactions, or helping businesses grow.
What We Are Looking For
- Significant relevant professional experience and a strong understanding of complex commercial transactions
- An established network within investment, finance, industry, government, or related sectors
- High personal credibility and the ability to communicate effectively with senior decision-makers
- Strong commercial instincts and the ability to distinguish serious opportunities from weak or unqualified proposals
- An entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to operate in a growing, performance-oriented organization
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of relationships and initiatives
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills
- Strong ethics, discretion, and professionalism
- A genuine interest in building long-term enterprise value as an owner rather than functioning solely as an employee
Compensation and Ownership
This position is structured around alignment and long-term value creation.
The selected partner may receive:
- An equity or ownership interest in the business
- Performance-based compensation tied to originated and successfully completed transactions
- Participation in agreed-upon fees, carried economics, or other transaction-related revenue
- The opportunity to increase responsibilities and ownership as the firm grows
The precise equity, compensation, vesting, performance requirements, and governance terms will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, relationships, expected contribution, and level of involvement.
This is not intended to be a conventional fixed-salary position. It is best suited for an accomplished professional who believes in the platform, can contribute tangible value, and wants their financial upside to be directly connected to the success of the business.
Work Structure
- Part-time commitment with flexibility based on active transactions and business priorities
- Hybrid working arrangement
- Regular collaboration with NSIG’s partners and external stakeholders
- Potential domestic and international travel for meetings, conferences, project visits, and government or investor delegations
- Opportunity to transition into a broader leadership position as the firm expands
Why Join NSIG
This is an opportunity to join an emerging investment platform at a formative stage and help shape its future.
Unlike a conventional advisory position, this role provides the selected individual with the ability to operate as an owner, influence the firm’s strategic direction, participate directly in the economics of successful transactions, and build a meaningful long-term equity position.
NSIG is looking for a partner who brings more than advice. We are seeking someone capable of opening doors, advancing transactions, strengthening execution, and helping build an institution with lasting value.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit a résumé or professional biography, along with a brief description of their relevant experience, professional network, and the specific value they believe they could bring to North Star Investment Group.
Qualified candidates will be invited to an initial confidential discussion with the firm’s leadership.
