ABOUT THE POSITION
Outdoor Instructors work with a small team to facilitate an After School Program & Summer Camp Nature Program for Bainbridge Island School District youth entering grades K-4. Outdoor Instructors will pass on their love of nature, knowledge of the natural world, and passion for our local forests and beaches to our participants. Additionally, they will create programming around a theme that changes monthly and will participate in daily field expeditions to parks, beaches, and forests on Bainbridge Island. Outdoor Instructors are supervised by the Program Director and perform other duties as assigned.
This is a 20 hour/week position on average, depending on BISD calendar.
Teachers must have, or be willing to obtain:
MERIT/Stars background check and take 30 hour STARS basic course (online), get Pediatric CPR and First Aid, Blood-borne Pathogens, TB test and a Food Handlers Permit, do 10 hours of continuing education each year after.
