EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead and deliver transportation and public works capital projects while supporting the growth and success of the team around you.Representative duties include: Lead the design and construction of public works projects including streets, traffic signals, intelligent transportation systems, utilities, and stormwater facilities (E)Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates suitable for public bidding (E)Serve as project manager on assigned capital projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and construction (E)Develop scopes of work and fee estimates for consultant-led projects; participate in consultant selection, contract negotiation, and contract administration (E)Review and approve consultant plans, deliverables, and invoices to ensure alignment with City standards and project goals (E)Review and monitor private development projects within the public right-of-way, subdivisions, and plats to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements (E)Perform technical and regulatory review of engineering plans, specifications, and reports; identify and guide corrective actions as needed (E)Work in a lead role with assigned staff, providing project leadership, mentorship, and professional guidance to Civil Engineers and Engineering Technicians (E)Support hiring and employee selection processes and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture (E)E denotes an essential function of the jobTo review the entire job description, including the full list of representative duties, click hereE denotes an essential function of the job
