Summer Extended Year Program - Special Education Paraprofessional - 1:1/CNAWest Springfield Public SchoolsWest Springfield Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Paraprofessional to provide individualized support to a student with unique learning and/or behavioral needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher and related service providers to reinforce instruction, encourage independence, and foster a safe, supportive learning environment.Duties and Responsibilities: -Provide direct support to an assigned student to reinforce learning of materials and skills introduced by the teacher. -Assist the teacher in implementing individualized strategies tailored to the students specific needs, interests, and abilities. -Establish and maintain a positive, supportive, and respectful relationship with the student to promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Support the student during transitions, emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, field trips, and other school-related activities. -Assist with lunch, snack, toileting, and clean-up routines as needed.-Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, building administration, or Superintendent of Schools.-Staff will be trained in student-specific feeding and positioning/transferring.Qualifications: - Must have CNA License- Associates Degree or 48 college credits attained or Workkeys, Associate degree preferred.- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed- Familiarity with some data collection is preferred.- Ability to work with young, active children in the classroom, on the playground, and in the gym during gross motor movement.Salary: $25.00/hour Program Dates: July 6, 2026 - July 30, 2026 (Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 12:00pm)
