Job Title: Traffic Clerk
Location: Port Neches, TX
We are seeking a detail-oriented Traffic Clerk to support daily shipping, receiving, transportation coordination, SAP transactions, documentation, and logistics activities at our Port Neches facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process inbound receipts and sales orders in SAP and other systems.
- Enter MIGO inbound truck receipts for raw materials and verify carrier paperwork and weights.
- Generate shipping documents, schedules, and Bills of Lading (BOLs).
- Complete PGI (Post Goods Issue) transactions and ensure shipments are accurately processed.
- Monitor truck schedules, shipment status, and carrier activities.
- Maintain completed BOL files in accordance with corporate retention guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain Microsoft Excel reports, scorecards, KPI reports, and truck tracking spreadsheets.
- Track truck demurrage and approve TONU (Truck Orders Not Used) when applicable.
- Batch orders and enter batch numbers and special loading instructions.
- Review previous-day shipment weights and verify orders are completed accurately to support month-end close.
- Run SAP reports such as ZTM533CN to identify missed shipments and reconcile planned vs. actual shipments.
- Follow up with Customer Service, planners, plant personnel, carriers, railroads, and business centers regarding missed or delayed shipments.
- Coordinate paperwork for intra-plant shipments between units, traffic personnel, and carriers.
- Support rail operations by preparing reports and paperwork for railcar movements.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and provide signed BOL copies when requested.
- Support Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives and complete required company training.
Qualifications
- Experience in traffic, shipping, receiving, logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Experience using SAP, particularly shipping/receiving transactions, is highly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to maintain detailed reports.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with carriers, customers, railroads, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced plant environment.
- Ability to work regular hours and overtime when required to support operational needs.
