Overview
The Mixing Technician is responsible for performing all mixing and blending operations to ensure that products are manufactured according to master manufacturing records (MMRs), company SOPs, and FDA cGMP standards. This role is responsible for accurately combining raw materials, monitoring batch progress, and ensuring blend uniformity and product quality. The Mixing Technician supports efficient production operations while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
Responsibilities
- Weigh, load, and mix ingredients according to MMRs and approved procedures.
- Set up, operate, and clean mixers, blenders, and related equipment as directed.
- Ensure materials are properly verified and documented prior to mixing.
- Monitor mixing parameters such as time, speed, and temperature to ensure consistency and quality.
- Perform in-process checks and record batch data accurately in batch records.
- Assist in sampling blended materials for QC testing and approval.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of mixing areas, equipment, and utensils according to sanitation procedures.
- Follow all cGMP, safety, and hygiene standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure product integrity.
- Report any deviations, equipment malfunctions, or material discrepancies immediately to the Lead or Supervisor.
- Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support verification and calibration activities for mixing equipment as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other production areas to ensure smooth material flow and batch progression.
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in dietary supplement, nutraceutical, food, or pharmaceutical environments.
- Working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 111 and cGMP manufacturing practices.
- Ability to read and follow detailed MMRs, SOPs, and production instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mixing or blending equipment operation.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with minimal supervision.
Pay: $17.50 per hour
