Overview
Join our team at Commonwealth Therapies as a Speech Therapist and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children in western Kentucky. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for patients of all ages, including children in early intervention programs and adults with speech or swallowing difficulties
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs and goals
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams such as audiologists, occupational therapists, educators, and medical professionals to ensure holistic patient care
- Engage parents and caregivers through education sessions to support therapy goals at home and promote ongoing progress
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems to document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately
- Stay current with advances in physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and evidence-based practices related to speech-language pathology
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Kentucky.
- Proven experience working with pediatric populations, including early intervention and school-based settings
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to speech and swallowing disorders
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive speech and language assessments for individuals with diverse disabilities or impairments
- Experience implementing speech-language therapy plans for patients with communication challenges across various age groups
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, caregivers, educators, and healthcare teams
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
