Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Indianapolis, IN, for a Steel Construction Project Manager. The Steel Construction Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of various construction projects.
Responsibilities include coordinating with the estimator, accounting department, purchasing manager, detailers, shop foreman, and others, as well as going on site visits and attending jobsite meetings. You will work with staff through estimating, sales, project turnover, project management, detailing review, contract review, purchasing coordination, scheduling, and subcontract management.
The role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams effectively and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of steel construction projects.
- Coordinate with the estimator, accounting department, purchasing manager, detailers, shop foreman, subcontractors, and other internal and external project stakeholders.
- Attend site visits and jobsite meetings as needed; minimal travel may be required at times.
- Communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, detailers, and erectors to plan and deliver projects on time.
- Review construction and fabrication drawings and coordinate detailing review.
- Support estimating, sales, project turnover, contract review, purchasing coordination, scheduling, and subcontract management.
- Manage multiple priorities while staying proactive, organized, and solution-oriented.
- Use basic knowledge of Tekla/BIM software to support project coordination and review.
Qualifications
- Construction Project Management: 5 years required.
- Structural Steel Project Management: 5 years preferred.
- Ability to understand construction and fabrication drawings required.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Multi-task oriented and proactive approach to project management.
- Basic knowledge of Tekla/BIM software preferred.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction preferred.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
