Join our dynamic culinary team as a Dishwasher/Food Prep specialist, where your energy and attention to detail will help create a seamless dining experience for our guests. In this vital role, you will support the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all food handling and safety standards are met. Your contributions will keep the kitchen running smoothly and uphold our commitment to quality and safety in every meal served.
Duties
- Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following established recipes and techniques
- Support the kitchen team by preparing ingredients for meal service, including slicing techniques and portion control
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in accordance with health regulations and safety standards in production
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools
- Help with general cleaning duties throughout the kitchen area to ensure a hygienic environment at all times
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep activities and ensure timely meal service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating knowledge of food handling and safety procedures
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and culinary techniques such as slicing, knife skills, and recipe adherence
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper sanitation protocols
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Prior catering or food industry experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
