We are a well-established, locally owned golf cart dealership and service shop seeking a skilled Golf Cart Mechanic to join our service team. This role is designed for a mechanic who can diagnose issues, perform repairs independently, and manage their workload with minimal supervision.
While golf cart–specific experience is highly preferred, starting pay is based on overall mechanical experience, diagnostic ability, and ability to work independently, not solely on prior golf cart experience. This is not an entry-level position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electric and gas golf carts
- Perform advanced electrical diagnostics, including: controllers, solenoids, chargers, wiring, and battery systems
- Service and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, and drivetrains
- Install lithium battery upgrades and accessories
- Prepare carts for sales, rentals, and customer delivery
- Test carts thoroughly to ensure quality and safety
- Accurately document work completed and parts used
- Communicate clearly with service advisors regarding repair status and timelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on mechanical experience working on golf carts, small vehicles, or similar mechanical/electrical systems
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently
- Highly self-motivated with strong time management and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain high-quality standards in a fast-paced shop
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
Preferred Experience:
- Direct experience working on electric and gas golf carts
- Familiarity with common golf cart brands and components
- Experience with lithium battery installations and upgrades
