Overview:
Tests and inspects product at various stages of production process and complies and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of product.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors sanitation and proper sanitation procedures.

Inspects processing equipment to ensure it’s completely sanitized prior to running production.

Monitors specific processes assigned for each product, i.e., quality (grade), weight control, etc.
- Records test data applying statistical quality control procedures.

Maintains and files test data records.

Assists Production Dept. in meeting company specifications and government regulations.

Notifies production supervisor and QC manager if samples are out of grade.

Performs analysis for enzyme deactivation (Peroxidase/Catalyse).

Checks and records blancher temperatures and retention time.

Checks chlorine concentrations in waste line at chiller, sprayers, residual, etc.

Checks and records net/drained weights.

Checks scales to ensure calibration (accurate weight and balance).

Inspects packaging, labels and coding to ensure compliance with customer specifications.

Adheres to all company and facility policies, work rules, and procedures.

Will don personal protective equipment (PPE) before commencing work.

Follows all safety guidelines set forth by the Company.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in food quality assurance or related field preferred, but not required.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and statistical analysis preferred, but not required.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
LANGUAGE: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules/signs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
