Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of construction tasks with precision and efficiency, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Perform routine repairs: Complete daily residential work orders, fixing damaged drywall, flooring, baseboards, and cabinetry in apartments and common areas.
- Complete unit turnovers: Efficiently handle carpentry tasks between leases, ensuring all woodwork, doors, and fixtures meet property standards for new move-ins.
- Install doors and windows: Maintain, repair, or replace interior and exterior doors, window frames, and hardware to ensure tenant security and weather-tight seals.
- Maintain exterior structures: Inspect and repair exterior wooden elements like decks, balconies, railings, and fences while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Execute property upgrades: Measure, cut, and install custom cabinetry, shelving, and trim work for planned apartment renovations and property improvements.
- Manage materials inventory: Estimate lumber and hardware needed for upcoming projects, maintain organized carpentry supplies, and coordinate purchasing with the maintenance manager.
- Ensure safety and collaboration: Work with the property management team to address resident concerns promptly while maintaining a safe, clean work environment.
Skills
- Tool Proficiency: Proficient in using hand and power tools for rough and finish residential carpentry work.
- Drywall & Paint: Skilled in drywall installation, patching, texturing, and basic painting for apartment turnovers.
- Technical Comprehension: Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance work orders.
- Doors & Windows: Experienced in hanging doors, repairing window frames, and installing residential locks and hardware.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail when installing baseboards, crown molding, and upgrading kitchen cabinetry.
- Time Management: Excellent time management skills to handle multiple work orders efficiently across the 160-unit complex.
- Physical Stamina: Physical stamina to lift heavy materials, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
