Job Summary
Work directly alongside licensed physical therapists in a boutique, one-on-one outpatient orthopedic practice in Midtown Manhattan. Great opportunity for someone with an athletic training or exercise science background looking for hands-on clinical experience ahead of PT school, ATC certification, or a sports medicine career.
Responsibilities:
- Assist PTs with patient exercises, stretches, and therapeutic activities during 1-on-1 sessions
- Set up and break down treatment areas, modalities, and exercise equipment
- Guide patients through home exercise program demonstrations under clinician supervision
- Monitor patients during independent exercise for proper form and safety
- Keep the treatment floor and gym area clean and organized
- Support front-desk flow during busy periods
- Communicate professionally with patients, therapists, and staff
Qualifications:
- Background in athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a clinical, athletic training room, or fitness/rehab setting a plus
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, patient-first attitude
- Reliable, punctual, comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
