Purchasing Specialist | $17–$22/hour | Hastings, NE | Full-Time
We’re hiring a Purchasing Specialist (Purchasing Agent) in Hastings, NE for a key role supporting production, engineering and warehouse operations. This position is essential in ensuring materials and supplies are sourced, ordered and delivered on time to keep operations running smoothly.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
What You’ll Do:
Source and purchase materials from approved vendors based on production demand
Work closely with Engineering to procure items from bills of materials
Coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain accurate stock levels
Initiate and support cycle counts and inventory verification processes
Maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels for key stock items
Assist Accounts Payable with invoice questions and discrepancies
Communicate with vendors to confirm pricing, lead times and order details
Negotiate terms, pricing and shipping arrangements when needed
Track and maintain accurate records for purchases, vendors and inventory
Collaborate with production leadership to prevent delays and shortages
What You Bring:
3+ years of manufacturing or related industry experience preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email)
SAP Business One or QuickBooks experience is a plus
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with all departments and leadership levels
Experience with inventory, procurement or production processes preferred
