Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Supervise and manage the work of other project managers and assistant project managers.
- Evaluate the scope of work. Analyze project alternatives, such as material specifications and preliminary construction methods, to develop the best construction techniques for the project.
- Communicate with other project managers, superintendents, etc. in order to facilitate job progress and ensure best practices are being followed.
- Coordinate with project superintendents and discuss prefabrication possibilities and/or alternatives prior to and during project construction.
- Initiate and maintain a liaison with clients to facilitate successful construction projects.
- Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontracts.
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site project superintendent. Prepare, issue and update project schedule to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (costs, billings, and collections) to maintain profitability goals.
- Manage risks. Assess alternatives to overcome system coordination issues. Investigate potentially serious situations to circumvent problems or promptly implement corrective measures as required.
· Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take offs, change orders, and contracts.
- Ensure project document controls are followed within contract requirements and standards.
- Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.
Qualifications:
- Extensive (10+ years) experience/knowledge of (electrical)construction design, finance, and management
· Must have 4+ years of field experience coordination with construction management
- Thorough understanding or corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on project activities
- Project experience must include commercial and industrial electrical construction projects and lighting projects a plus
- Outstanding negotiation and change order management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organizational and documentation skills
- Advanced abilities in problem solving, scheduling, and cost control
- Excellent MS Office skills and ability/drive to learn new software systems
· Must be able to inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather: this may include walking, climbing reaching, bending crawling, standing, or stretching.
· The employee must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
· Working knowledge of safety procedures.
· Prior experience in electrical estimating.
· Working knowledge of Accubid (Conest Intellibid) estimating software a plus.
- Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee and project performance
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
· Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts as needed
