Title: Activity Assistant
Location: Victoria Post Acute Care 654 South Anza Street, El Cajon, CA 92020
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Schedule Options: Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday
Hours: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Pay: $21.42/hour (Experience required)

Victoria Post Acute Care is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility located in El Cajon, California, dedicated to providing high quality care through compassion, teamwork, and clinical excellence. Our team supports residents across long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, and memory care services throughout the East County community.
We are currently seeking an experienced Activity Assistant with a background in skilled nursing facility activities or recreational therapy. The ideal candidate is energetic, patient focused, and passionate about creating meaningful engagement for residents. CNAs with skilled nursing facility experience who enjoy resident interaction are also encouraged to apply.
Position Summary
As an Activity Assistant, you will play a key role in enhancing residents’ quality of life by planning, organizing, and leading recreational and therapeutic activities. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure activities meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with residents, bringing creativity to programming, and making a positive daily impact in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement daily activity programs for residents
- Lead group and one-on-one activities including games, arts and crafts, music, and social events
- Encourage resident participation and engagement
- Support recreational therapy programs tailored to resident needs
- Assist with special events, holiday activities, and outings
- Document resident participation and responses to activities
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and facility standards
Qualifications
- Skilled Nursing Facility experience required
- Experience specifically in Activities or Recreational Therapy required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to engage and motivate residents
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient focused
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
