As a part-time Adult Sailing Instructor, you will serve as a role model and mentor to adult sailors, helping them develop confidence and skills on the water. Adult Sailing Instructors will teach private lessons, group classes, and assist with facilitating boat rentals. Duties include but are not limited to developing lesson plans, providing on-the-water instruction, assisting with boat rigging and derigging, supervising rentals, and, most importantly, ensuring the safety of all participants.
Adult Sailing Instructors may also assist the Sailing Director with administrative tasks and program planning. Instructors must be US Sailing Level 1 Instructor Certified before starting in this role. Candidates will be required to complete First Aid, CPR, AED, and SafeSport certifications.
Applicants should have extensive sailing experience, a strong passion for teaching, and excellent communication skills. This position requires availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays during the summer season.
