Job Overview- Must have hospice management/supervisory experience
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our hospice company. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for delivering exceptional hospice care and fostering a positive, compliant, and efficient nursing environment. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in nursing administration, strong leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of various care settings including assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care. As the Director of Nursing Services, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality care delivery, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing nursing staff, and optimizing clinical operations to enhance resident outcomes and staff satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of resident care plans that meet individual needs while adhering to regulatory standards such as Medicare and HIPAA.
- Supervise and manage nursing staff providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team.
- Oversee the management of medical records and documentation review to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication regarding patients, health status, and care requirements.
- Ensure proper utilization of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for documentation, medication administration, and care coordination.
- Monitor compliance with healthcare laws including HIPAA regulations while safeguarding residents’ privacy rights.
- Oversee the training and ongoing education of nursing staff on topics such as physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and call rotation and management.
- Manage staffing schedules.
- Collaborate with administrative leadership to develop policies that promote quality improvement initiatives aligned with best practices in all aspects of hospice care.
Requirements
- Proven experience nursing management skills.
- Extensive background in assisted living facilities or similar healthcare environments such as home health or hospice care.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations, and compliance standards relevant to hospice.
- Proficiency in EMR systems and EHR systems for accurate medical documentation, care plans, charting, physician orders, etc.
- In-depth understanding of medical terminology, physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, and nursing practices essential for effective patient care management.
- Leadership skills with a track record of managing nurse management teams effectively while fostering professional growth.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams and external agencies.
- Knowledge of healthcare laws including HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and legal compliance in all documentation practices. Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
