American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital position requiring DC licensure and prior Level I trauma experience.

Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital with 228 staffed beds
-
Patient ratios of 1:4-5
-
Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
-
13-week assignment length
-
Every other weekend (EOW) and holiday shift requirements
-
No floating between like units required, though floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is possible
-
No on-call requirements
-
No block scheduling accommodations available

Uses Cerner Sorian (first generation) charting system
-
Active DC RN license required
-
Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
-
Level I Trauma Center experience required
-
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
-
PALS certification preferred
-
Cerner charting experience preferred
-
Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care and management, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Triage experience required

Two supervisor references required for consideration

Provide emergency department nursing care including triage, IV therapy, central line management, and cardiac monitoring in a high-acuity trauma setting

Royal blue scrubs required

Candidates must have been separated from this facility for at least 1 year if previously employed there
