General Job Summary:
The Arkansas & Missouri Railroad is seeking to employ a Track Supervisor for our MOW Department. The person in this position inspects and maintains all track structure and right-of-way (ROW) to specifications set by Arkansas & Missouri Railroad (AMRR) and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). Directly supervises and develops track forces to ensure quality maintenance and safe work performance. Monitors all aspects of safety and overall track inspection and maintenance in assigned areas of responsibility. Leads and manages personal safety and track safety processes and ensures policy compliance.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
- Inspect mainline twice weekly
- Inspect switches and yard tracks monthly
- Inspect bridges that are on the Bridge Monitoring Report
- Remediate and protect all track issues per 213 track standards
- Remediate, monitor, and manage all inspections and flagging activities- Bridge, Rail, Geometry, Weed Spraying etc.
- Inspect and monitor weather events by monitoring emails from SkyGuard
- Cover your own territory- This includes but is not limited to weekends, holidays and special inspections unless otherwise communicated with neighboring Track Supervisor
- Witronix High Energy alerts inspected within 24 hours of email notification
- Use track flags for slow orders
- Take ownership of your section of track
- Know, understand and be tested on FRA 213 Track Standards
- Accompany FRA Inspector and Roadmaster when on your respective territory
- Manage and communicate the day-to-day work plan of track crews and coordinate priorities with Roadmaster
- Planning of materials and quantity of materials for day-to-day work plans for track crews
- Ensure track crews are working safely and that they are making timely and accurate repairs according to FRA 213 track standards
- Efficiently plan work and allocate resources to ensure timely accomplishment of tasks
- Inspect production gang work and track construction projects to ensure quality compliance.
- Effectively utilize performance management and interpersonal skills to ensure timely feedback and coaching as required to maintain discipline and improve performance
- Comply with Efficiency Testing requirements per FRA 217.9
Knowledge and Skills:
- Railroad industry knowledge
- Knowledge of FRA regulatory standards
- Knowledge of basic track maintenance
- Knowledge of curve elevation design theory and string lining curves
- Knowledge of derailment investigations
- Knowledge of track inspections
Job Requirements:
- Must hold a valid driver’s license to drive on company business.
- Subject to motor vehicle report review.
- CDL preferred.
- Must pass a background screening
- Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard work week)
- On the road as often as possible within assigned territory
- Wear protective equipment (such as welding shields, hard hat, hearing protection, etc.)

- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend Availability
Relocation: must be willing to relocate if living out of area- relocation assistance will be considered.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
