Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Running Coach to inspire and guide elementary school children as they discover the sport of running. As a Running Coach, you will design group training programs, motivate participants, and foster a positive environment that promotes health, fitness, and confidence. Duties
Lead engaging group running sessions in Central Park and other nearby areas that emphasize proper technique, pacing, and endurance building.
Monitor participants’ progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust training programs as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
Foster a motivating and inclusive atmosphere that encourages teamwork, perseverance, and enjoyment of running activities.
Educate students on injury prevention, stretching routines, hydration strategies, and overall health best practices.
Maintain clear communication with students regarding goals and safety protocols.Ensure safety during all activities by adhering to proper supervision standards and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
Prior experience as a running coach or in sports coaching with a focus on recreational running.
Experience working with children or youth in sports or physical education settings.
Knowledge of running coaching as well as games and activities that incorporate running is beneficial.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of participants.
Excellent communication skills for effective student interaction and instruction.
Familiarity with health club or gym environments; experience working with students or children.
Ability to manage behavior effectively while maintaining a positive coaching environment.
