Cvent is embedding AI and automation across the enterprise — with more than 100 active initiatives spanning Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Client Services, and IT. As we scale this investment, we need rigorous financial governance to ensure these initiatives translate into measurable outcomes and sustained margin impact.
The Senior Financial Analyst, Strategic Finance (AI Portfolio) is a high-visibility role sitting within Cvent's Strategic Finance function. This person will own enterprise-wide ROI validity and measurement for Cvent's AI and automation portfolio, build the frameworks that govern how we evaluate and track strategic investments, and serve as the primary financial thought partner to business leaders driving AI-powered transformation across the company. The role leads one analyst and reports directly to the VP, Corporate Finance.
In This Role, You Will::
AI Portfolio Financial Governance
-
Develop and manage enterprise-wide ROI measurement for Cvent's 100+ AI and automation initiatives
-
Standardize definitions and methodologies for cost savings, cost avoidance, productivity gains, and revenue impact across all business functions; prevent double-counting and overstatement
-
Monitor forecast vs. realized value across departments; apply risk-adjusted methodologies to projected returns
-
Establish pre-launch financial baselines before initiative deployment; design post-launch KPI tracking frameworks to identify adoption gaps and financial underperformance early
Business Case Development & ROI Modeling
-
Build initiative-level ROI models for AI and automation investments; translate operational improvements into financial impact — productivity leverage, revenue acceleration, margin expansion, and working capital optimization
-
Develop a deep understanding of Cvent's unit economics, including the relationships between platform usage, product roadmap, customer adoption, and marketing investment — and use that understanding to sharpen the financial assumptions behind AI business cases
-
Build and maintain financial models and analytical frameworks to evaluate KPIs, assess performance, and measure ROI across initiatives; own the modeling standards the organization relies on
-
Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis on projected returns; support capital allocation and build-vs-buy decisions
Value Realization & Planning Integration
-
Collaborate with FP&A to incorporate realized savings, productivity benefits, and initiative outcomes into the annual operating plan and long-range financial plan
-
Track and report realized vs. projected outcomes post-implementation; surface underperforming initiatives and recommend corrective action to IT and the Business Units
-
Partner with functional leaders to ensure AI investments are being executed against their approved financial cases
Executive Reporting & Strategic Support
-
Develop portfolio dashboards and executive-ready financial summaries for CFO and senior leadership
-
Translate operational AI metrics into clear financial narratives — communicating ROI, risk, and portfolio performance in business terms
-
Serve as a trusted analytical partner to business leads across Sales, Marketing, Product, HR, and Finance on investment prioritization and resource allocation
-
Present findings and recommendations to VP, Corporate Finance & CFO, and executive leadership as needed
Process Ownership & Cross-Functional Coordination
-
Serve as the finance owner of AI portfolio ROI measurement across the enterprise — setting the process, driving adoption of measurement standards, and holding the organization accountable to consistent methodology
-
Lead cross-functional coordination with business unit leads, PMO and FP&A, and IT/operations to ensure timely and accurate submission of initiative data, baseline establishment, and post-launch reporting
-
Help Finance scale by improving financial measurement infrastructure, automating recurring workflows, and enhancing analytical processes as the portfolio grows
Here's What You Need::
-
5–7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Management Consulting
-
Advanced financial modeling expertise — Excel required; experience building complex, multi-scenario models from scratch
-
Experience building ROI or business case models for technology investments, transformation programs, or strategic initiatives
-
AI building experience and appetite
-
Strong understanding of SaaS financial drivers: ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, churn, productivity modeling, and unit economics

Proven ability to design measurement frameworks and track realized vs. projected financial impact
-
Excellent executive communication — able to distill analytical complexity into clear, concise narratives for senior audiences
-
Experience working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders without direct authority
-
Prior experience leading or mentoring junior analysts, or demonstrated readiness to do so
