Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to perform electrical installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and service work across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of electrical systems, can read and interpret electrical plans and schematics, works safely and efficiently, and is capable of working independently or as part of a team.
The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for completing electrical work in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, project specifications, and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Install and terminate electrical wiring, conduit, cable, panels, disconnects, breakers, switches, receptacles, lighting, motors, controls, and other electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnose electrical problems efficiently and safely.
- Install and service residential electrical systems, including new construction, remodels, service upgrades, lighting, outlets, panels, and troubleshooting.
- Perform commercial and industrial electrical installations, including conduit, feeders, branch circuits, equipment connections, motor circuits, control wiring, and distribution systems.
- Work with single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Install and maintain electrical equipment and systems according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform electrical testing and use appropriate meters and diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable NEC requirements, local codes, OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, customers, other trades, and electrical apprentices as needed.
- Provide direction and training to apprentices and less-experienced electricians.
- Identify materials and equipment required to complete assigned jobs.
- Complete work orders, job documentation, time sheets, and other required paperwork accurately.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials in good working condition.
- Respond professionally to customers and represent the company in a positive manner.
- Perform other electrical duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification as required by the applicable jurisdiction.
- Residential, commercial, and/or industrial electrical experience.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local electrical codes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and plans.
- Proficient with electrical hand tools, power tools, meters, and testing equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and identify the root cause of problems.
- Knowledge of conduit installation and bending.
- Experience with electrical panels, breakers, disconnects, motors, controls, and distribution equipment.
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, elevated platforms, crawl spaces, attics, and other jobsite conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry electrical materials and equipment.

- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
