Painter / Powder Coating Technician
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Painter / Powder Coating Technician to prepare, paint, and powder coat metal parts while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, prepare, and mask parts for liquid paint and powder coating applications.
- Mix and prepare paints, coatings, and related materials according to specifications.
- Set up and adjust spray equipment, including air pressure, spray patterns, and coating settings.
- Apply primers, finish coats, and powder coatings to achieve required quality and thickness standards.
- Inspect coated parts for appearance, coverage, adhesion, and defects.
- Identify and correct coating issues; escalate complex problems when necessary.
- Clean, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting on painting and powder coating equipment.
- Follow production schedules, work instructions, and quality requirements.
- Accurately complete required production documentation and system updates.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Assist in other production areas as needed, including material handling, masking, packaging, and general shop support.
- Support training and mentoring of entry-level team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial painting and/or powder coating experience.
- Knowledge of paint application techniques, equipment setup, and coating quality standards.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Push up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, twist, and load/unload materials as needed.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules when required.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
