Skills
- Broad knowledge of physical exercise and human physiology, with the ability to determine appropriate workout plans according to individual needs and goals
- Strong motivational presence and enthusiasm for helping clients achieve their fitness goals

- Physical ability and stamina to demonstrate exercise techniques accurately over long periods of time
- In-depth knowledge of gym equipment, machines, and up to date fitness techniques
Preferred qualifications
- Certification with nationally recognized Personal Trainer organization, such as ACSM, NSCA, NASM or equivalent experience
- Pilates Reformer Certified
- Proven experience designing workout plans tailored to individuals
- CPR and first aid certifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead classes effectively
- Background in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field
- Strong teaching and leadership skills
- Commitment to staying current on health and fitness best practices
- Extensive experience working with active older adults
Key Responsibilities
- Client Assessment and Goal Setting
Evaluating client fitness levels, health conditions, and establishing realistic and measurable fitness goals.
Creating customized exercise programs based on individual needs, preferences, and goals, including cardiovascular workouts, strength training, and stretching.
- Instruction and Motivation
Providing instruction on proper exercise techniques, demonstrating exercises, offering positive reinforcement, and motivating clients to achieve their goals. Personal hygiene, appearance and a positive attitude and appreciation of the service industry is important.
Tracking client progress, making adjustments to training plans as needed, and providing feedback to ensure effectiveness.
Ensuring a safe and clean training environment, demonstrating safe exercise techniques, and enforcing safety guidelines.
Attracting and retaining clients through excellent service, building relationships, and promoting the gym or training programs.
- Health and Wellness Education
Providing nutritional advice (if formally educated on this topic) and education on lifestyle factors that impact health and fitness.
Performing CPR and first aid if necessary. Understanding the Birnam Wood protocol in emergencies is vital.
Staying up to date on new exercise techniques and trends through continuing education.
Bringing positive energy into the workspace every day with colleagues, helping when needed, good communication.
Providing accurate accounting for class attendance
Proper clocking in/out/punch changes with Paycom
Performs required on-line training.
Understands the protocols for emergencies, usage of Paycom, usage of Studio sound system, how to navigate the Birnam Wood app and how to help members as well.
