American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) travel position in Wichita, KS, requiring a minimum of 1 year of acute care ICU experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications.

Work setting is a 26-bed Surgical ICU (SICU) on the 2nd floor of a large hospital in Wichita, KS
-
Patient population includes trauma patients, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and general post-surgical ICU patients
-
Patient ratio is 1:2, with 1:1 for high-acuity patients including post-CABG
-
Common procedures include chest tube management, central line care, and medication drips

Specialized equipment includes balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia systems, and ECMO
-
EMR system is Meditech
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Unit is staffed with 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, and 1 Patient Care Tech per shift

Active KS or Compact RN license required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital ICU experience required

US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

TNCC certification is preferred

Prior travel experience at large trauma facilities is preferred

Ideal candidates are driven, organized, efficient, and maintain a positive, engaged attitude

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
