Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, mental state, and overall well-being; report any concerns promptly.
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and maintain detailed documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking.
- Support clients with personal transportation for appointments, errands, or community activities.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Utilize proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage in patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior, especially for those with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Follow care plans meticulously while providing emotional support and fostering positive communication with clients and their families.
- Maintain compliance with all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification, and HIPAA standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an in-home caregiver or in a related setting such as assisted living or nursing home environments.
- Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and medication administration.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely; experience using patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications related to home health or geriatrics are advantageous.
- Experience working within HIPAA guidelines ensuring confidentiality and privacy of client information.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation for assisting clients outside the home is preferred.
