Position Summary
Sherman Homes USA Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Site Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of residential new home construction projects throughout Southeast Michigan. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for managing subcontractors, coordinating schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining job site safety, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong residential construction experience who can effectively manage multiple trades while maintaining the highest standards of quality, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all phases of residential construction from site preparation through final occupancy.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and utility services.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Conduct daily site inspections to verify quality, workmanship, and compliance with plans.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and change orders.
- Identify and resolve construction issues before they impact schedule or budget.
- Maintain daily site logs, progress reports, photos, and documentation.
- Coordinate municipal inspections and maintain permit compliance.
- Perform quality control inspections and manage deficiency corrections.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Communicate regularly with project management, homeowners, consultants, and trade partners.
- Assist with material ordering, delivery coordination, and inventory management.
- Support warranty and post-construction service activities as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of residential construction supervision experience.
- Strong understanding of residential building methods and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of Michigan Residential Code and local building requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient with smartphones, tablets, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing custom home construction.
- Experience with production or semi-custom residential developments.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- First Aid / CPR Certification.
- Experience with scheduling software and project management systems.

Pay: $64,020.71 - $77,100.21 per year
