Job Description:
Semi Local CDL A Driver – Northlake IL – Home Weekly – 63 cpm
This semi local position delivers coffee and perishable restaurant goods from Northlake IL to satellite locations across the Midwest. Drivers run a mix of drop and hook and driver unload using a manual pallet jack or forklift. Freight returning to Northlake is drop and hook. Drivers operate in IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, TN, and WI with an average of two layovers per week.
Pay and Miles
- $0.63 per mile
- Stop pay: $25 per stop
- Driver assist unload: $20 per occurrence
- Detention: $15 per hour
- Trailer moves: $18 per hour
- Outsource work: $250–$275 per day
- Safety training: $20 per hour
- New hire training: $200 per day
- Holiday pay: $200 per day
- Miles: ~2400 per week
- Average yearly: $85,000+
Schedule and Home Time
- Monday–Friday
- Occasional mandatory Saturday based on customer need
- 5am start time
- 8–10 hour days
- Average 2 layovers per week
- Optional 6th day available
- Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years off
Position Details
- Deliver coffee and perishable goods in 48 and 53 foot dry van trailers
- Mix of drop and hook and driver unload
- Manual pallet jack or forklift at most customer locations
- Northlake IL deliveries are drop and hook
- Semi local operation across IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, TN, WI
Special Requirements
- Remote domicile for a West Coast customer location
- No onsite management
- Must assist other DCS accounts when needed

Job Requirements:
Must have a valid CDL A license for IL.
Must have at least 3 months of verifiable experience in the last 6 months - with one carrier.
Must be physically able and willing to assist with unloading the truck using a manual pallet jack or forklift.
Must be willing to drive into NYC at least 2 times a week, delivering to the same 3 stores. (These stores are in Queens, Yonkers and Long island)
Wage Range: 0.52 - 0.54 per mile
