Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Accessioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the laboratory by managing the intake and processing of specimens. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, medical terminology, and excellent organizational skills. The Lab Accessioner will ensure accurate labeling, tracking, and documentation of samples while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Receive and verify specimens for testing, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
- Label samples accurately and maintain an organized tracking system.
- Assist in the preparation of samples for analysis according to laboratory procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following established protocols.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of specimens.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and veterinary terminology to assist in specimen handling.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on laboratory techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of specimen preparation.
- Experience in a research laboratory setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and medical terminology is essential.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
