Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (RDAEF) to join our dynamic dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, support patient care, and ensure smooth clinical operations. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient management will contribute to delivering high-quality dental services in a welcoming environment. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all dental tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.
- Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; document treatment details and medical history thoroughly.
- Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and compassion.
- Ensure compliance with dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Collaborate seamlessly with team members through four-handed dentistry techniques and effective communication to enhance workflow efficiency.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR system Dentrix for efficient patient management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry.
- Experience with dental equipment operation such as 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with infection prevention protocols, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards.
- Ability to perform dental instrument processing accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Excellent chairside assisting skills combined with knowledge of dental terminology and medical documentation practices.
- Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and healthcare settings for accurate communication and record keeping.
