Job Summary
MMA is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Architect with approximately 8-12 years of professional architectural experience in design-focused practices. This role is ideal for a proven leader who can guide projects from concept through construction, with a focus on design excellence, technical rigor, and teamwork. Our work spans a wide range of project types—from museums to affordable housing to infrastructure to urban design—at both national and international scales. Based in our collaborative Silverlake studio, you will be surrounded by a talented team and immersed in a culture of ideas, models and drawings that bring our projects and processes to life.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements, both locally and nationally.
- Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, establish priorities, and keep projects moving forward.
- Advanced proficiency with Revit/BIM, AutoCAD, Rhino, Bluebeam, Enscape and Adobe Suite is required. Additional rendering and visualization software proficiency, as well as experience with Microsoft Project, is a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with clients.
- Being licensed is required, preferably in California.
Responsibilities
- Lead interdisciplinary teams through all phases of design and construction, delivering clear, coordinated documentation, and design-driven solutions.
- Guide the resolution of complex design and technical challenges, balancing architectural intent, technical performance, budget, and constructability.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to advance projects successfully through all phases of design and construction.
- Support project budgeting, cost tracking, scheduling, and overall project financial coordination.
- Contribute across a broad range of project types including residential, commercial, cultural, educational, and institutional.
- Support and mentor junior staff while partnering closely with senior leadership to advance the practice.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
