Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Supervisor to join our team on a PRN weekend schedule. The Dietary Supervisor will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Food Services Department to ensure high-quality, nutritious meals are prepared and served in a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations and supporting our mission to provide excellent resident care.
Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and supervising all aspects of the Food Services Department.
Coordinate food service activities with other departments (Nursing, Environmental Services, Activities, Social Services, etc.).
Interpret and communicate department policies and procedures to staff, residents, visitors, and regulatory agencies.
Oversee food service staff performance, scheduling, and compliance with operational standards.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of meals according to posted cycle menus.
Complete administrative duties such as reports, evaluations, and supply inventories.
Participate in facility inspections and assist in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all food preparation and storage areas.
Implement and monitor safety and inventory control procedures for food and equipment.
Must be a strong team player and work cooperatively with others.
Demonstrates empathy and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and team members.
Maintains integrity, reliability, and accountability in all aspects of work.
Shows initiative and strong problem-solving abilities.
Must be courteous, pleasant, and professional under all circumstances.
Must have at least five (5) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related healthcare setting.
Must have training in cost control, food management, and diet therapy.
Must be ServSafe Certified.
Nursing home experience preferred.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs periodically.
Proficiency with Meal Tracker or similar dietary management software.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
