Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dog Groomer to join our pet care team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal grooming and care, with the ability to provide exceptional grooming services while ensuring the safety and comfort of each pet. This role involves working closely with dogs of various breeds and temperaments, utilizing animal handling skills to deliver high-quality grooming in a professional environment.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and client preferences
- Handle dogs safely and effectively using proper animal restraint techniques
- Assess each pet’s condition and behavior to determine appropriate grooming procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work area
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming needs and aftercare instructions
- Assist with pet care tasks such as feeding, walking, or administering medication if required
- Manage heavy lifting of animals or equipment as needed for grooming tasks
- Keep detailed records of grooming services provided and any special instructions or concerns
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming, dog handling, or animal care roles such as veterinary technician, veterinary assistant, or kennel experience
- Knowledge of dog training, animal restraint, and pet sitting best practices
- Strong animal handling skills with patience and compassion for pets of all temperaments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large dogs or equipment)
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Prior experience with veterinary or equine environments is a plus but not required
- Basic understanding of pet grooming tools and techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
