Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic MRI Technologist to join our dynamic radiology team. In this vital role, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to produce detailed images of patients’ internal structures, supporting accurate diagnosis and patient care. Your expertise will ensure the safe, efficient, and precise acquisition of medical images, contributing directly to diagnostic evaluations that improve patient outcomes. Duties
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures by explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and positioning them correctly for optimal imaging results
- Operate MRI scanners with precision, adjusting parameters to obtain high-quality images while adhering to safety protocols
- Use medical imaging software and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) to store, retrieve, and manage images efficiently
- Conduct additional diagnostic procedures such as CT scans, DEXA scans, sonography, and vascular access as needed to support comprehensive patient assessment
- Maintain strict patient safety standards by following aseptic techniques, equipment safety procedures, and patient safety regulations throughout all procedures
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate image acquisition for diagnostic evaluation
- Perform basic life support (BLS) if required during emergency situations and assist with IV insertions or other invasive procedures when necessary
- Ensure all medical equipment is operated safely and maintained properly, adhering to institutional policies and manufacturer guidelines
Qualifications
- State License.
- Proven experience operating MRI scanners with a strong understanding of medical imaging principles and anatomy knowledge
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist or equivalent in MRI technology from an accredited program
- Proficiency in using diagnostic radiology equipment including CT, DEXA scan devices, ultrasound (sonography), and PACS systems
- Knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques essential for accurate image interpretation.
- Strong communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
- Commitment to maintaining equipment safety procedures and up-to-date knowledge of radiology best practices
