NWC Campus Managers are responsible for all business and instructional operations at their campus. The major areas include management of the staff, ensuring student success, driving sales, internal and external customer service, and facility cost management. In addition, the Assistant Campus Manager is responsible for setting a professional example, environment and culture. This position is responsible for adhering to State and Federal Compliance as well as scheduling facility maintenance. Preference given to fully licensed professionals and classroom ready.
NWC Campus Manager position is full time, Tuesday through Saturday from 8am to 5pm and works onsite at one of NWCs locations located near Portland, OR.
CAMPUS MANAGER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of all school sales including admission of new students, retention of current students and student training in business concepts such as retail sales, rebooking of clients and upselling services and products.
- Development of new clients, retaining existing clients and advertisement associated thereof.
- Responsible for high level of customer service and managing the quality of services performed, the quality of the products used, the professional attitude towards clients, students and staff.
- Management and oversight for student success; completing on time, progress reports, and measurement of student progress in business concepts.
- Training and experience for all students in required abilities to be successful once graduated which includes professionalism, developing and managing their business, and the necessary skills to become a licensed cosmetologist.
- Day to day management of staff at the campus including scheduling, payroll, performance student/instructor ratios and staff development and performance.
- Ensure staff has development and continuing education opportunities, and are setting a professional example.
- Total management of the front desk including student services, student training, all sales, all customer service, bookings and filing. Also complete responsibility for cash/credit card count, drops in the safe and close out of the till and balancing.
- Responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels of all products and supplies needed to run the campus. (i.e. classroom, back-bar, retail and salon floor). Place orders in a timely manner, on schedule and within budgeting amounts.
- Ability to create and uphold NWC’s vision, mission and values by creating a culture that is fun for students, goal driven, team oriented while maintaining a learning environment that strives to ensure student and staff success.
- Responsible for all costs associated with the campus including utilities, supplies, labor and maintenance.
- Reporting to departments on a regular basis including payroll hours, vending and other supply lists, attendance, SAP reporting, graduate placement, hours, sales, inventory, schedule changes and time off requests. Other reporting may be required as needed.
- Management of the overall facility for proper equipment operation, cleanliness and appearance, kits and books documentation, student resources, tools and study areas.
- Track and perform inventory counts, enter in Excel spreadsheet for reporting on a regular basis.
- Ensure school, students and staff is in compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations by daily tracking of hours, grades, mark-offs and progress reports, etc.
- Knowledge of and ensuring compliance with the student catalog and Employee Handbook for policies and procedures is a key school supervisor responsibility.
- Staying current in the cosmetology profession with updated education, training and skill development while maintaining a current license. Will back up as an instructor if necessary.
- Other duties and projects may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess active Hair, Nail, and Esthetic licenses through HLO with at least two years' experience using those licenses in the past 5 years, and active teacher registration and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. School Directors must have two years experience teaching, training and/or business or school administration.
