Rainier Fruit Company in Selah, WA is hiring a full-time Logistics Coordinator to help manage the timely delivery of prepaid shipments for perishable products. This role works closely with sales teams, carriers, consignees, and internal systems to coordinate freight, resolve shipment issues, and support efficient logistics operations. This position has a wide range of job duties and responsibilities and will require a great deal of discretion and independent thought.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate prepaid shipments and help ensure on-time delivery.
- Communicate with sales, carriers, and consignees to track shipments and resolve issues.
- Solicit and select carriers, track loads, and support freight cost control.
- Negotiate fair freight rates based on current market conditions.
- Follow applicable federal trucking regulations and company procedures.
- Use logistics systems to maintain accurate shipment and freight information.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend, and holiday support.
- Assist with claims resolution when delivery or product issues occur.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of trucking, freight, or logistics operations.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with BOSaNOVA or transportation management systems preferred.
- Knowledge of perishable freight handling, temperature requirements, and loading procedures preferred.
