1. Educational and Licensing Requirements
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.
- Active licensure to practice independently in the state of Alabama is REQUIRED (e.g., LPC, LMSW, or LMFT, etc.) .
- Compliance with all state board regulations and requirements for supervised practice.
2. Clinical Experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience in mental health settings (including internships or supervised practice).
- Experience working with clients presenting with a range of mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma).
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, CPT, DBT, trauma-informed care).
3. Client Care and Professionalism
- Prioritization of client care, ensuring the well-being and dignity of all clients with mental health challenges.
- Ability to provide ethical, compassionate, and client-centered treatment while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Commitment to timely client communication, including appointment scheduling and follow-ups.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, including reliability, respect, and maintaining therapeutic rapport.
- Capacity to manage clinical responsibilities with care, including addressing crises and escalating concerns appropriately.
4. Supervision and Compliance
- Active participation in required clinical supervision with openness to feedback and growth.
- Ensure clinical documentation meets ethical, legal, and organizational standards.
- Adherence to HIPAA regulations and all privacy policies regarding client information.
5. Administrative Expectations
- Timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation (e.g., progress notes, treatment plans).
- Ability to manage a caseload while maintaining high-quality care standards.
- Participation in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
6. Competencies and Skills
- Strong therapeutic and diagnostic skills appropriate to a master’s-level scope of practice.
- Ability to work with diverse populations while maintaining cultural competence and sensitivity.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for both client care and team collaboration.
7. Additional Considerations
- Specialized training or certifications (e.g., trauma-informed care, crisis intervention).
- Willingness to offer flexible availability, including evenings or weekends if needed.
- Interest in contributing to outreach programs, workshops, or educational initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide ethical, client-centered, and evidence-based mental health services, including intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and individualized treatment planning for a caseload of approx. 20 clients.
- Prioritize client care by maintaining a supportive, responsive therapeutic environment and addressing mental health needs with professionalism.
- Attend and actively participate in required clinical supervision and comply with state licensure regulations.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation (e.g., intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans) that meets legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Uphold professionalism by maintaining appropriate boundaries, effective communication, and punctuality in all client and team interactions.
- Collaborate with supervisors, colleagues, and external professionals to support comprehensive client care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and ethical standards (e.g., APA, ACA, NASW) while maintaining client confidentiality.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed and escalate safety concerns in accordance with mandatory reporting obligations.
- Stay informed on emerging best practices and engage in ongoing professional development.
- Attend staff meetings, case consultations, and training sessions as required.
- Offer flexible scheduling if needed and contribute to community outreach or educational initiatives when requested.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
