We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Houston office, reporting to the Director of Professional Services. This senior role provides leadership and accountability for the full project lifecycle of automation, SCADA, and industrial control system deployments. The Senior Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensure alignment across internal and external stakeholders, and drive execution excellence in scope, schedule, budget, and quality. The role also supports strategic project planning, client engagement, and continuous process improvement across our delivery portfolio. This position includes a travel requirement of up to 25% to client sites and other GLX locations, as needed, to support successful project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary project leader and client interface, responsible for successful delivery of complex technical projects from initiation through closeout.

Lead project initiation by facilitating hand-off meetings between Sales and the Professional Services team, ensuring alignment on scope, deliverables, and client expectations.

Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and budgets using planning and SharePoint tools.

Guide the project team in executing project plans, resolving issues, and managing changes to scope or schedule with transparency and discipline.

Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, regular status updates, and collaborative problem solving.

Oversee procurement, subcontractor coordination, and vendor deliverables to support project milestones.

Ensure documentation and tracking of all project activities including meeting notes, material orders, subcontractor performance, and field reports.

Lead recurring internal and client-facing project meetings to monitor progress, manage risks, and document change orders.

Partner with Finance to ensure accurate billing, milestone tracking, and financial forecasting.

Conduct periodic project and post-project reviews to analyze performance, capture lessons learned, and identify areas for improvement in tools, processes, and team coordination.
Knowledge and Experience:

7+ years of experience in project management roles within engineering, automation, SCADA, or industrial infrastructure environments.

Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex technical projects with a focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Strong familiarity with Controls, Automation, and I&E systems, with direct experience in utility, energy, or industrial sectors preferred.

Advanced in MS Project Online, SharePoint, MS Teams, and the broader Microsoft Office suite.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with a client-oriented mindset.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.

PMP certification preferred; equivalent project management credentials or advanced certifications will be considered.

Proven track record of delivering large-scale or high-complexity projects on time and within budget.

Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with a collaborative leadership style.

Experience mentoring junior project managers or contributing to PMO and process development initiatives is highly desirable.
