Lead Carpenter – Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day field operations on assigned projects.
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Perform and oversee high-quality residential carpentry, including framing, finish carpentry, remodeling, and additions.
- Plan daily and weekly work to keep projects on schedule.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspections.
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, building codes, and Hall Contracting quality standards.
- Communicate daily with the Project Manager regarding schedule, progress, and jobsite needs.
- Identify problems early and recommend practical solutions before they impact the project.
Leadership
- Lead and mentor carpenters and laborers on site.
- Maintain a productive, positive, and professional work environment.
- Train less experienced team members in proper construction techniques.
- Hold crew members accountable for quality, safety, and productivity.
- Set the standard for craftsmanship, professionalism, and work ethic.
Quality Control
- Inspect all work for accuracy before moving to the next phase.
- Ensure framing, finish work, and installations meet company quality expectations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites.
- Complete punch lists promptly and thoroughly.
Scheduling & Coordination
- Coordinate material deliveries to minimize downtime.
- Verify materials before installation.
- Communicate upcoming material needs to the office.
- Work with subcontractors to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Help maintain realistic production schedules.
Safety
- Enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
- Conduct work safely and ensure crew members do the same.
- Maintain safe equipment and jobsite conditions.
- Report accidents, near misses, or hazards immediately.
Equipment & Tools
- Maintain company vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
- Operate telehandlers, forklifts, skid steers, lifts, and power tools safely.
- Keep tools organized and in good working condition.
- Report damaged or missing equipment.
Customer Service
- Represent Hall Contracting professionally at all times.
- Communicate respectfully with homeowners, architects, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Keep clients informed when appropriate while directing major project decisions through the Project Manager.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Track employee time accurately.
- Record daily job progress.
- Document change requests and unforeseen conditions.
- Assist with material takeoffs and field measurements when needed.
Ideal Qualifications
- 7+ years of residential construction experience.
- Extensive knowledge of custom homes, remodels, and additions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform layout without supervision.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. and work in all weather conditions.

Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
