American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray with ARRT (R) certification and 2+ years of experience to perform diagnostic imaging procedures in an acute care hospital setting.

Adult acute care and outpatient hospital setting including pediatric outpatient services
-
Performs bedside/portable and mobile/surgical procedures using C-arm equipment
-
Utilizes PACS and Epic charting systems
-
5x8 hour shifts with variable start times between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, or evening shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
-
Every other weekend required

Current ARRT (R) certification and BLS required
-
X-Ray Tech license and CA Fluoroscopy license required if applicable

Minimum 2 years of experience required

Epic charting system experience required
-
Experience with a wide range of diagnostic imaging including chest, abdomen, spine, pelvis, upper and lower extremities, and skull/head imaging

Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE protocols
-
Age-specific competency required across neonate through older adult populations
-
Perform routine and specialized radiographic examinations using stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment

Assist physicians with radiological diagnostic and guidance imaging during invasive procedures

Educate patients on procedures, medications, and contrast media to alleviate fear and anxiety
-
Mentor and support students and new technologists in a constructive learning environment

Implement ALARA radiation safety standards to minimize exposure to self, staff, and patients

Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform quality control checks, reporting malfunctions as needed

Complete clerical duties including EHR/RIS documentation, patient scheduling, and supply inventory management

Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate

Returning staff or travelers must have a separation period of at least 1 year to be eligible
-
Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday approved for time off during the assignment

Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
