Position Overview
PNC Bank is seeking a Senior Software Architect to join the core architecture team and support multiple project teams. The architect will focus on solution design, upfront analysis, architecture reviews, requirements analysis, integration design, and translating enterprise architecture into low-level designs for delivery teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in solution architecture, requirements analysis, system integration, workflow modeling, architecture documentation, governance, and stakeholder collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture, design, and technical reviews for software development initiatives.
- Perform upfront architecture and design-oriented analysis to understand business objectives, technical constraints, dependencies, and risks.
- Translate business goals into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
- Define solution scope, assumptions, dependencies, and integration requirements.
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, diagrams, design artifacts, and decision records.
- Ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, standards, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Model business and system processes and workflows, identifying handoffs, failure points, dependencies, and optimization opportunities.
- Design conceptual system interactions, integrations, and data flows across applications and services.
- Provide guidance to delivery teams by translating high-level architecture into low-level technical designs.
- Participate in architecture peer reviews, preparation sessions, and architecture council/governance reviews.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, security, architecture, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Track architecture intake, review status, action items, and follow-ups through completion.

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
